Maggie Fischer is a mixed media artist whose work is shaped by her lifelong connection to the Jersey Shore. Growing up by the water influenced her fascination with weathered surfaces, shifting landscapes, and the textures found in both natural settings and the surrounding built environment. Her work draws from landscapes, cityscapes, and organic forms, with a focus on how time and the elements leave visible traces.
Her painting practice is experimental and process-driven, often incorporating discarded and found materials to build layered, tactile surfaces. Texture is central to her approach, with each piece evolving through processes of imperfection, erosion, and transformation.
In addition to her studio work, Fischer serves as the Art Director of the Long Branch Arts & Cultural Center, where she supports fellow artists and develops community-focused creative programs.
